The Stanford SPARK programme continues to transform breakthrough research into real-world therapies and diagnostics by combining funding, mentorship, and hands-on support for translational science. Through SPARK Global and SPARK Africa, researchers are connected across continents to accelerate solutions for unmet medical needs and bring promising discoveries closer to patients.
As part of this mission, two fellowship opportunities are now available for product development projects to be hosted at the African Institute of Biomedical Science and Technology (AiBST) in Harare, Zimbabwe.
These fellowships are intended for researchers from African universities who participated in the SPARK Africa bootcamp in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2026. Selected fellows will have the opportunity to advance their product development projects at AiBST, benefitting from the institute’s specialised expertise and infrastructure.
Priority will be given to applications in advanced drug analysis using HPLC or LC-MS/MS, as well as genome sequencing and genotyping projects using NGS. SPARK especially encourages proposals that leverage established analytical or genomic platforms to address important research questions related to unmet medical needs.
